Hyderabad: Four days after he survived an assassination attempt by the outlawed People's War Group,
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's condition was on October 5 declared "totally
stable" and he would resume normal duties from October 6.
Naidu, whose right hand and collar-bone were fractured in the claymore landmine blasts near Tirupati,
underwent a complete medical check-up on October 5 morning and his condition is "totally stable",
official sources said.
Naidu would resume his duties on October 6, they said.
Meanwhile, several Union Ministers, including Defence Minister George Fernandes and Minister of State
for Rural Development Bandaru Dattatreya called on Naidu.
Fernandes, who was with Naidu for 10 minutes, enquired about his health and wished him speedy
recovery. He also assured the Chief Minister of the Centre's help in tackling the naxalite menace in the
state, the sources said.
Union Agriculture Minister Rajnath Singh told reporters after meeting Naidu that the Chief Minister has
handed him over a memorandum urging to release 15lakh MT rice for the drought-affected areas in the
district.
He said Naidu's request will be considered in view of the serious nature of the drought situation in the
state.
