Pak forces destroys militant camp in NWFP
Sunday, October 5 2003 10:39 Hrs (IST)

Islamabad: Two days after killing eight al-Qaida militants and arresting 18 near the Afghanistan border, Pakistan on October 5 claimed to have destroyed a ultra camp in Diamir district in North West Frontier Province (NWFP).

Pakistan Defence spokesman, Gen Shoukat Sultan said Pakistan Army raided a militant camp in Diamir in NWFP but no arrests were made.

He told Pakistan Geo TV tonight (Oct 4) that security forces raided the militant camp and destroyed it. He however did not identify the militant group, which ran this camp.

The attack on the militant training camp came hours before the arrival of US Deputy Secretary of State, Richard Armitage.
