Monday, October 6 2003 21:17 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi: The Peoples War Group (PWG) of naxalites, which carried out a failed assassination attempt
on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has got links with LTTE (Liberation Tigers of
Tamil Eelam) and received expertise in using Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from the Sri Lankan
outfit.
"There are links between PWG and LTTE as the expertise in use of IEDs has been inculcated in the
PWG from the Sri Lankan organisation," Advani told reporters in New Delhi after presentation of National
Award for Excellence in Public Administration and Management of Sciences for 2002 to renowned
scientist R A Mashelkar by President A P J Abdul Kalam.
"However, in the attempt on Naidu's life, one cannot say that LTTE had a role in it," the Deputy Prime
Minister said.
