PW's threat to Rabri, Laloo: security to be tightened
Tuesday, October 7 2003 14:16 Hrs (IST)
Patna: Security measures would be further tightened around Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav in view of the threat by the outlawed outfit,
People's War (PW) to stop the ongoing operation against their colleagues or face dire consequences.
Official sources said all possible steps would be taken for the security of CM and her family members.
While the CM enjoys 'Z' security, Laloo Prasad Yadav already enjoys 'Z plus' security.
Besides, the state legislature has already passed a Bill providing adequate security to CM and family
members, the sources said.
Meanwhile, buoyed by the attempt in which Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his
colleagues survived with injuries last week in Tirupati, PW renewed its threat to Chief Minister Rabri
Devi, Laloo Prasad Yadav and Jharkhand CM to stop the operation against ultras or else face the
consequences like Andhra Pradesh CM suffered recently.
A press release issued by Sunil, secretary of Bihar-Jharkhand joint committee of PW, affiliated to its
Andhra Pradesh outfit, said attack on Naidu was not a terrorists' strike. It was a special operation
planned and executed by the specially trained people's guerrilla army, Sunil said.
Accusing Laloo-Rabri regimes and Jharkhand ministry of adopting repressive measures against the PW
activists, the outfit pledged to avenge the killing of all its members in police operation.
