2 LeT men among 6 ultras killed; hideout busted

Srinagar: Six militants, including two Pakistani nationals belonging to Lashker-e-Toiba outfit, were killed
and a hideout was busted in separate operations by security forces in Kashmir Valley since October 7
night, a police spokesman said on October 8.
The LeT militants, Abu Hamza and Abu Saifullah, were killed in an encounter with a joint search party
early October 8, he said.
The spokesman said two AK assault rifles, four magazines, 60 rounds, a wireless set, six improvised
explosive devices (IEDs) and eight handgrenades were recovered from the killed ultras.
Army and Border Security Force (BSF) cordoned off Sonabrari village of Kokernag in Anantnag district
on October 8 morning which led to an encounter between hiding militants and the search parties, official
sources said.
They said both sides used sophisticated weapons during the gunbattle, which ended with the killing of
two unidentified militants, and added the operation in the village was still continuing.
The spokesman said security forces killed an unidentified militant at Khurgam-Kreeri in Baramulla district
on October 8 morning. An AK rifle, two magazines and two handgrenades were recovered from the slain
militant.
In another encounter, he said a militant identified as Jameel Ahmad of Muzafarabad area of Pakistan-
occupied Kashmir was killed in an encounter at Namblan-Nadimarg in Kulgam area of Anantnag district.
One AK rifle, three magazines, 45 rounds and four handgrenades were recovered from him.
BSF smashed a militant hideout at Malkia forest in Bandipora area of Baramulla and recovered a pika
gun, three magazines and 2 rounds.
