Lucknow: The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on October 9 stayed till November 4 the
decision of the Rae Bareilly court to frame charges against six Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Vishwa
Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition case.
The Bench took the decision on revision petitions filed on October 8 by Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Vinay
Katiyar, Uma Bharati and VHP leaders Ashok Singhal, Vishnu Hari Dalmiya, Acharya Giriraj Kishore and
Sadhvi Rithambara challenging the Rae Bareilly court's decision to frame charges against them.
Another accused in the case HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi got a reprieve last week in a high court
order, which stayed the Rae Bareilly court's decision to frame charges against him.
Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani was discharged by the trial court in the case earlier.
