BSF constable killed in firing by Pakistani troops

Jammu: A Border Security Force (BSF) constable was killed in firing by Pakistani troops in Kanachack sector of Jammu district, official sources said.

The firing by small arms took place on October 8 night forcing Indian troops to retaliate, the sources said.

One BSF jawan, Raghuvinder of the 163 Battalion at Alfa Machal post, sustained serious injuries in the firing. He was shifted to the government medical college hospital in Jammu where he succumbed to his injuries early on October 9, they said.

Intermittent exchange of small arms fire between Pakistani and Indian troops also took place in Bhawani area of Rajouri district and Budhwar and Arnia areas of R S Pura sector in Jammu district since October 8 evening.

However, there was no loss of life or damage reported during the exchange, they said.
