J&K VB raids JDA office; seize land scam records

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir vigilance bureau (VB) on October 9 raided the office of Jammu
Development Authority (JDA) and seized records relating to the land scandal allegedly involving former
Housing and Urban Development Minister, Gulam Mohideen Shah and three top officials, who were
booked on October 8.
A team of vigilance bureau sleuths raided Vikas Bhawan housing JDA office and seized records,
including 72 files, important documents and officials letters of former minister sent to the JDA, during the
two-hour operations this afternoon, VB sources told reporters in Jammu on October 9.
Led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vigilance, Alok Puri, the team, which started investigation
today (Oct 9), will be screening the seized record of land scandal, they said.
In the first action against a minister of erstwhile NC (National Conference) government, vigilance bureau
on October 8 registered cases against Shah, who is currently NC legislative party (NCLP) chief and 3
top officials including former commissioner secretary housing A G Ahanger, Vice-Chairman JDA Aslam
Qurashi, secretary Tushar Sharma, for allegedly abusing their official position and causing loss to the
state exchequer.
