Babri demolition case: Framing of charges deferred

Rae Bareilly: A Special Court on October 10 deferred framing of charges against seven Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders, including Union Minister Murli Manohar
Joshi, in the Babri mosque demolition case till November 22 in view of the stay granted by the Allahabad
High Court.
The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court had granted stay on the Rae Bareilly court's decision
to frame charges till November 4.
Counsel for the accused placed the high court order before judge V K Singh who deferred hearing on
the matter till November 22.
Besides Union Human Resource Development Minister Joshi, charges were to be framed against BJP
leaders Vinay Katiyar and Uma Bharati and top VHP functionaries Ashok Singhal, Giriraj Kishore, Vishnu
Hari Dalmiya and Sadhvi Rithambara.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) counsel R K Saini said the agency might file a revision petition
against the special court's order discharging Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani in the case.
