Faizabad: Prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been imposed in the district, including in Ayodhya,
till October 31 ahead of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP)'s proposed Ayodhya march, even as state
president of Shiv Sena Vijay Tiwari and 17 others were arrested on October 10 for causing "breach of
peace".
The 18 Shiv Sainiks were arrested in Ayodhya for shouting slogans demanding permission to hold a
meeting in Ram Katha Park on October 11, which was refused by the district administration following
imposition of prohibitory orders.
Stating the Shiv Sena was determined to defy the prohibitory orders, Tiwari vowed, "We will hold a
meeting, come what may, and a decision in this regard would be taken up by evening."
Entry of people is not being allowed inside Ayodhya without proper checking and identification, and
carrying of arms, explosives, sticks and tridents have been banned, District Magistrate Deepak Kumar
said.
He said nobody will be allowed to move around in the security zones except through specific routes.
