Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan who turned 61 on October 11, also began second innings by reviving AB Corp at a grand function at a five star hotel in suburban Mumbai.

Bachchan, wearing a black apparel while making the announcement of the revival of his company, said on the occaision of his 61st birthday "It is not the time to celebrate but it is an acknowledgement of strength, faith and courage given by my late father, who passed early this year."

"I am not celebrating the birthday, the celebrations can wait till the completion of a year after the passing of my father". Bachchan said in an emotionally choked voice.

Terming the relaunch of AB Corp as a "first baby step" and said the company would come out with the films `Ranveer', to be directed by noted Raj Kumar Santoshi.

He later gave the mahurat shot alongwith his son Abhishek which also features Sanjay Dutt. The muhurat shot was directed by renowned film maker Yash Chopra while Bachchan's close friend and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Amar Singh gave the clap.

Talking about ABCL which went into red, the superstar said "I formed the company in 1995 with a view to regularise and corporatise the vast film industry. But, somewhere we went wrong and failed. Despite the advice by friends and well-wishers he did not shut his company, he added.

"My conscience did not permit me to shut the company but I paid the money I owed to the people", Bachchan said he has cleared Rs 90 crore of Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited's (ABCL) debt completely.

He profusely thanked his friend Amar Singh, who he said came into his life to solve the troubles and worries. Alongwith Singh, who became member of Bachchan family, came Sahara Subroto Roy and Reliance's Anil Ambani, he said.

Bachchan said these people did not come to put money in his company but to give faith, strength and courage to him.

Without their affection this evening would not have happened. With their energy and strength I decided to fight back, he said.

Talking emotionally about his father Bachchan said my father gave me this face, mind, voice, character, demeanour, education, wonderful upbringing, answers to all questions and a surname, which already carried name fame and glory.

In the morning, the Bachchan household was innudated with flowers and greeting cards and with fans thronging his Juhu residence to have a glimpse of the star.
