Tuesday, October 14 2003 10:58 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Punjab Police on October 13 conducted a series of raids at the premises of Shamsher Singh, brother of noted singer Daler Mehndi, and two other persons in Delhi in connection with a case of illegal trafficking of people.

At least six passports and other documents were recovered during the raids conducted at Vikaspuri, Connaught Place and Mehrauli areas, police sources said.

The passports, belonging to complainants, were allegedly recovered from beneath a tabla in Vikaspuri, the residence of Samshersher Singh, they said.

The properties owned by Daler Mehndi will be raided soon, the sources added.

Meanwhile, a city court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Daler Mehndi.
