Kanpur: Continuing its offensive, police on October 14 arrested about 300 Vishwa Hndu Parishad (VHP) activists on their way to Ayodhya at the railway station.

A large number of VHP activists from Southern states, travelling in Lucknow-bound Cochin Express, were nabbed as the train reached Kanpur Central station, police said.

The exact number of the arrested activists, proceeding to take part in their proposed march on October 17, was not known immediately, police said, adding they were lodged at Mandi Parishad campus.
