Hizb commander among five ultras killed in JK

Jammu: Five ultras, including a Hizbul Mujahideen commander, were killed in four separate encounters
in Jammu division since October 14 night, official sources said on October 15.
Hizbul commander Nazir Ahmed Wani was killed on October 14 night in an encounter between security
forces and the ultras in Nawkote-Doligam area of Banihal Tehsil.
Wani, alias Paplu, operating in the area for the last seven years, was involved in many killings, the
sources said adding his elimination was a setback to Hizbul in the area.
Some arms and ammunition, including one AK rifle, were recovered from the slain militant.
Security forces also gunned down two ultras in Hari Budda area and another in Hilkaka area in Poonch
district in two separate encounters on October 15, they said.
Another militant was shot dead by security forces in Keri area of Rajouri district, the sources said,
adding, details of recoveries of arms and ammunition were awaited.
