New Delhi: President A P J Abdul Kalam turned 73 on October 15.

To mark the occasion, he attended an all-religion prayer meeting at Surat in Gujarat on "Unity of Mind" where he had long discussion with leaders from all religious groups.

Later, he visited the tribal areas of Saputra, where he interacted with members of the tribal community.

Earlier, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee greeted Kalam over phone just before the President left for Gujarat.
