Centre moots joint venture with Goa on sky bus

Margao (Goa): Centre is considering a joint venture with Goa to fructify world's first sky bus technology project initiated by the Konkan Railway Corporation Limited, Railway Minister Nitish Kumar said.

"I fully support the proposal mooted by Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for a joint venture to fructify the world's first sky bus technology launched by KRCL," he said launching the prototype of the sky bus on the 14th Foundation Day of the Corporation.

Kumar said he had directed the Railway Board to study the proposal as also the sky bus technology keeping all the aspects including safety and security of passengers.

Goa Governor Kidar Nath Sahani, Minister of State for Urban Development Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of State for Railways Basangouda R Patil, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Minister of State for Finance Shripad Naik, Railway Board Chairman R K Singh, Chairman of KRCL Kanwarjit Singh and Managing Director KRCL B Rajaram were among those present on the occasion.
