Srinagar: Militants on October 17 attacked the residence of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at high-security Maulana Azad Road.

Militants hurled a grenade at the newly-constructed residence at around 10:00 hours (IST), official sources said.

The Chief Minister was not in the house at the time of the attack.

Security guards at the CM's residence immediately retaliated and the exchange of fire was still on.
