CBI to probe Tata Finance's complaint against Pendse
Friday, October 17 2003 15:23 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: The Mumbai High Court on October 17 ordered Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the complaint filed by Tata Finance Ltd against its former Managing Director Dilip Pendse for allegedly cheating the company to the tune of Rs 400 crore.

Expressing doubts over the investigations made by Economic Offences wing of city police, Justice Ranjana Desai and Justice P V Kakade ordered CBI probe into alleged misappropriation of company funds by Pendse during the period from December 1999 to May 2000.

In July 2002, the economic offences wing had filed "C Summary" report (closure of case) saying there was no evidence against Pendse.
