Explosion in pharmaceutical firm injures 3 workers

Pune: Three persons were seriously injured when explosion occurred in a Pharmaceutical company at Kurkumbh in Daund taluka of Pune district on October 18.

"The explosion occurred when solvents kept in the factory came in contact with static electricity triggering a sudden reaction," police quoting the factory management of Glen Mark Pharmaceuticals said.

Fire tenders from Indapur, Daund, Baramati and other places were pressed in to contain the fire.

Two of the injured have been admitted to a private hospital, while another has been admitted to a hospital in Pune.

Their condition is stated to be critical, police added.
