Monday, October 20 2003 22:19 Hrs (IST)

Dubai: Projecting that India could earn up to $ 150 billion from exports of knowledge-based technology products by the year 2010, President A P J Abdul Kalam on October 20 suggested greater co-operation with United Arab Emirates (UAE) in IT, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and entertainment sectors.

Addressing Dubai Chambers of Commerce and Industry, he said there are already opportunities for India to earn up to $ 80 billion by 2008 from knowledge-based products and "by careful planning it is possible to touch a target of even $ 150 billion by 2010".

Kalam said there were abundant opportunities for mutually beneficial joint ventures between India and United Arab Emirates in pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and entertainment industries.
