Charles Sobhraj denied bail in twin murder case

Kathmandu: A Nepalese court on October 20 denied bail to international criminal Charles Sobhraj and
gave an interim order to probe into his involvement in the murder of two foreigners in 1975.
The Kathmandu District Court gave an interim order to investigate into the murder case keeping Sobhraj
in custody, officials said.
The confessed serial killer was sent to Nepalese Central Jail, Deputy Superintendent of Police K C
Ganesh said.
"He will have to stay in jail at least for a year as the investigation will take long time to complete," he
said.
During the hearing, Sobhraj gave a written statement denying his involvement in the case, a court
official said.
The "bikini killer" was arrested from a Kathmandu casino on September 19 and was facing charges of
entering the country on a fake passport and killing two foreign tourists in 1975.
The court on October 17 granted him bail in the immigration case but police promptly arrested him again
in the murder case.
