Srinagar: In yet another explosion at a crowded place, 14 civilians were injured when militants hurled a
grenade at a bus stand in Kulgam area of Anantnag district in South Kashmir on October 21 afternoon,
official sources said in Srinagar.
The grenade was tossed by unidentified militants towards a police party at the Kulgam bus stand around
3.15 PM, where a large number of people were waiting to board Shopian-bound passenger buses, the
sources said.
The grenade however missed the intended target, and exploded with a big bang wounding 14 people.
The injured were shifted to a local hospital where the condition of two of them was stated to be serious.
Police assisted by paramilitary forces sealed the entire area soon after the explosion and carried out
thorough searches. However, no one was arrested as the militants managed to escape from the scene
taking advantage of the panic following the blast, the sources said.
No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Militants lobbed two grenades at the crowded Batmaloo bus stand in Srinagar and busy Lal Chowk in
Anantnag district on October 20 killing two civilians and wounding 57 others.
