Swiss diplomat identifies none among photos of suspects
Wednesday, October 22 2003 10:43 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: As its manhunt for the two rapists of a Swiss diplomat continued on the seventh day, Delhi Police said the victim had given more clues about the culprits after seeing photographs of 27 suspects sent to her.

"Specific leads have been obtained and a team is working on that," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) Vivek Gogia said.

He said the victim, who returned to Switzerland after the rape, has responded to the E-mail communication sent by Delhi Police.

She has seen all the 27 photographs of the suspects but identified none of them as her rapists, the sources said.

"But after seeing the photographs, she has given more clues on the basis of which we are close to crystallising the identification of the culprits," Gogia said.

"We are hopeful of a breakthrough soon," he said.

South Delhi Police had sent photographs of 20 suspects to the victim via E-mail while Crime Branch had sent the rest.

Meanwhile, police continued to question thousands of people having resemblance with the culprits and speaking fluent English.
