HC stays Mayawati's arrest in Taj Corridor case

Lucknow: In a major relief to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on October 22 stayed her arrest in the Taj Heritage Corridor case till the completion of the investigation.

A division bench comprising Justice Khemkaran and Justice G K Gupta also stayed the arrest of Mayawati's then principal secretary P L Punia and former secretary (environment) V K Gupta in the Taj Heritage Corridor case.

The court on October 21had reserved its orders on the petition of Mayawati and the other two separate petitions filed by Punia and Gupta in this regard.
