Hyderabad: Stating that the Ayodhya imbroglio could be resolved through dialogue between the representatives of the two communities, the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) chairman Tarlochan Singh on October 23 said the Commission has taken initiative to bring the leaders on the discussion table.

Speaking to reporters, Singh, who is in Hyderabad in connection with the first Afro-Asian Games, said the Commission has taken initiative to bring face-to-face the leaders of majority and minority communities to resolve the contentious issue which has been "creating hatred among the people".

In a bid to bring the leaders of the two religions and political parties together, the Commission has recently set up two Committees in this regard, the NCM chairman said.

While one Committee headed by A M Sethana, Vice-Chief of Army Staff (Retd), would meet the leaders of majority community members and political parties, another committee under the leadership of Dr M S Osmani, who is vice-chairman of NCM, would interact with leaders of minority community to elicit their views on Ayodhya issue.

Claiming that despite efforts by the government and other organisations, the leaders of two communities did not have any dialogue on this issue, he said, "If two warring groups sit together on a table for negotiations, their angle will come out which will pave way for resolving the issue amicably".
