Jehanabad: Supporters of the People's War (PW) on October 23 disrupted rail and road traffic between
Gaya and Patna for nearly four hours to protest against yesterday's (Oct 22) killing of an activist of the
banned organisation near Muther village of Naxalite-hit Jehanabad district.
Official sources said that angry villagers blocked railway traffic on the Gaya-Patna section of the East
Central Railway for nearly four hours this morning by squatting on the tracks near Muther.
Hundreds of PW sympathisers also brought to a halt vehicular communication between Patna and Gaya
by jamming the main road passing through the village.
Normal traffic was restored only after the sub-divisional officer of Jehanabad, Shakir Jamal, assured the
angry villagers of prompt action against the killers.
A PW activist, Rustam Ali, was hacked to death on the outskirts of the village by some unidentified
assailants when he was returning home from Jehanabad on a bicycle.
