Army shoots down four militants in Assam

Guwahati: Four militants were killed in separate encounters with the Army in Assam on October 24.
In an encounter at Hange village in North Cachar Hill district, the Army shot dead two Kuki Liberation
Army (KLA) ultras and managed to rescue two people who were kidnapped by them, official sources said.
The two were businessmen hailing from the city and were kidnapped for ransom.
Huge quantity of rations, some extortion notes and one disposable rocket launcher were recovered after
the encounter from the spot.
In another encounter in Kaulang Nadi area of Bongaigaon district, one National Democratic Front of
Bodoland (NDFB) militant was killed, from whom one Chinese pistol with one live cartridge and one
Chinese grenade was recovered.
In a separate incident, the Army alongwith the police shot dead another NDFB ultra at Singibal area of
Kokrajhar district.
One .38 revolver, two Chinese grenade and some currency was recovered.
