President Kalam returns from maiden foreign trip

New Delhi: President A P J Abdul Kalam returned to New Delhi on October 25, after a week-long state visit to the United Arab Emirates, Sudan and Bulgaria, his first foreign tour after assuming the high office.

Kalam was received at the airport by Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani who greeted him with "welcome back to India".

Among others at the airport were Social Justice and Empowerment minister Satyanarayan Jatiya, Cabinet Secretary Kamal Pande, Home Secretary N Gopalaswamy and the three services chiefs.
