India starts acting on peace package to Pakistan
Tuesday, October 28 2003 18:17 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Acting on its fresh 12-point peace package to Pakistan, India on October 28 announced steps for running of additional Delhi-Lahore buses, allowing elder citizens to cross Wagah border check- point on foot and for providing free medical treatment to the second lot of 20 Pakistani children.

At the same time, New Delhi termed as "unfortunate and not in keeping with the spirit of the peace efforts", the remarks of Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman on October 27 that the new peace initiative was "rehash and recycle" of offers made by Islamabad earlier.
