2 army jawans killed, 8 hurt in blast in Doda

Jammu: Two Army jawans were killed and eight others injured, some of them seriously, when militants triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Khilani in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on October 28, official sources said in Jammu.

The IED was triggered by ultras through a remote control device when Army convoy was passing through the area between 11:30 Hrs and 12:00 Hrs, they said, adding that one of the vehicles turned turtle under the impact of explosion, killing two jawans and injuring eight others.

The injured jawans have been rushed to hospital, they said.

Police and Security forces have launched search operation to track down militants responsible for the explosion, they added.
