Eleven injured in grenade attack in J&K market

Srinagar: At least eleven persons, including two policemen, were injured when militants lobbed a
grenade at a crowded market in Anantnag district of South Kashmir around 12.00 hrs (IST) on October
29, official sources said.
Militants hurled the grenade targeting a police party at Mehdikad, causing splinter injuries to nine
pedestrians and two policemen, the sources said.
After the October 29 attack, the area has been cordoned off by police and paramilitary forces and a
hunt has been launched for the militants.
No outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
This was the second grenade attack by militants at crowded places in the valley in as many days.
One civilian was killed and 37 others injured when militants threw a grenade on the Bharat Sanchar
Nigam Ltd (BSNL) office in Srinagar on October 29.
