Thursday, October 30 2003 20:24 Hrs (IST)

Ahmedabad: A special Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) court today (Oct 30) rejected the bail plea of Mohammed Hussain Kalota, one the main accused in Godhra train carnage.

POTA court judge Sonia Gokani rejected the bail plea of Kalota, a former president of Godhra municipality, accused of "inciting mobs" that torched the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express last year and being present on the spot.

Kalota had applied for bail about a month ago and the court had reserved its orders after hearing the arguments his advocate L R Pathan and additional public prosecutor Sudhir Brahmabhatt.
