Thiruvananthapuram: A day after Chief Minister A K Antony dared his detractors in the party to test their
strength on the Floor of the House, senior Congress leader K Karunakaran and his son and Kerala
Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K Muraleedharan today (October 30) flayed the Antony
government charging it with all-round failure and made a common cause with the LDF (Left Democratic
Front) Opposition in favouring an early Assembly session.
Inaugurating an "I" group convention at Thrissur, Karunakaran made an open call for removal of Antony
as Chief Minister and said the Government's reluctance to hold the Assembly session was meant to bide
time to win over more Congress MLAs to his side.
Talking to reporters, Muraleedharan said, "Administrative stagnation in the state is a reality. Mere denial
by Chief Minister is not going to work."
He said there was total collapse of law and order, developmental activities had come a standstill and
files were not moving in offices. Government had reduced itself as a machinery to disburse salary, for
which a government need not be there in place, he said.
