Hyderabad: Expressing confidence that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would win in four of the five States
going to polls in December, party president M Venkaiah Naidu has predicted realignment of Opposition
parties as a fallout of the results.
"BJP will form Government in four of the five states going to polls on December 1 as people are against
Congress governance there, while we will try to make some inroads into Mizoram," Naidu told reporters
today (November 2).
Accusing the Governments of Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan of gross misuse of official
machinery, Naidu said the election results would have a serious fallout on Congress as there would be a
realignment of forces.
While Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee remains the undisputed leader of National Democratic Alliance
(NDA), the leadership issue is a point of dispute among Opposition parties and the affairs in many of the
Congress-ruled States point out that the high command has no control over it cadre.
"Though it's an internal affair of Congress, going by the state of affairs in Kerala, Maharashtra,
Uttaranchal, Assam and Mizoram, it's evident that the high command has no grip over the State
leaders," Naidu said.
The situation in Kerala has gone beyond control and it may prompt for early polls too, he said, adding
governance has been suffering in all the States where the high command could not take prompt action
against dissent.
