4 killed, 40 hurt in communal clashes in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Four persons were killed and 40 injured in the fresh communal riots in Viramgam, 70 km from Ahmedabad, official sources said today (November 2).

Curfew has been clamped in the town since 11:30 hours (IST).

At least 40 persons, including three children, are being treated for shrapnel injuries at a private hospital in Juhapura area of the city, official sources said, while seven persons are being treated in V S Hospital.

The three persons who died due to shrapnel injuries on their chest following the "private firing" include Sharifbhai, Zakhir Allarakha, Jakhir Yusuf. They were brought dead to the V S Hospital from Viramgam, police said.
