New Delhi: As the Mufti Mohammed Sayeed Government was completing its one year in office, a dangerous trend of increase in exfiltration has been witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir this year.

According to an official document submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs, exfiltration in the state had picked up this year with youths from various district crossing over to Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) after being brainwashed by militant leaders for the so-called jihad.

According to the document, the year began with just two cases of exfiltration witnessed in the state, but it showed a dangerous increase in the following months, informed sources said.

In the month of August, the number of exfiltration cases in the state were reported to be as high as 86 although thereafter it dipped to mere seven in September.

The figures showed that 11 exfiltration cases had been reported in October till the 15th of the month alone.

The report said in July, 64 cases of exfiltration were reported.

Recently, diary of a senior Hizbul Mujahideen militant Saif-ul-Tehman Bajwa, killed in an encounter, revealed that Hizb had managed to exfiltrate nearly 80-90 local youths to PoK.
