New Delhi: Hitting out at Congress for its demand of de-recognising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a national party and freezing of the Lotus symbol for allegedly politicising a rape victim, the party today (November 4) said this was a challenge to the honour and dignity of millions of its workers and it will give a befitting reply in the coming Assembly elections.

"By demanding de-recognition of BJP and the Lotus symbol, Congress Party has challenged the honour and dignity of millions of BJP supporters and workers," party spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

He said the party has "accepted the challenge from the Congress and in the coming Assembly elections they will give a befitting reply by wiping out the Congress in all the States".

Describing the behaviour by Congress as "absurd and strange", Naqvi alleged, "The party which has been engaged in voter list fabrications, misappropriation of public funds by distributing advertisement materials through school bags and ad campaigns, is blaming the BJP of breaking the code of conduct."
