Tuesday, November 4 2003 21:19 Hrs (IST)

Dhar (MP): In a setback to Congress, its senior leader and former Madhya Pradesh Transport Minister Pratap Singh Baghel joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (November 4) following denial of party ticket for Assembly polls.

Dhar district BJP president Anant Agrawal gave primary membership of the party to Baghel who quit Congress along with about 200 supporters in the presence of Indore BJP MLA Laxman Singh Gaud.

Agrawal said Baghel has joined BJP unconditionally.

Baghel said his main aim is to stop Chief Minister Digvijay Singh from getting a third term.
