Patiala: A local court today (Nov 6) issued fresh non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against Punjabi singer
Daler Mehndi, who was evading the Patiala Police, in connection with the illegal human trafficking case
registered last month.
The warrants were issued by the court of civil judge (senior division) P S Dhanoa on an application
moved by the Patiala Police on November 3.
The application was kept pending as the bail plea of the singer was slated to come up on November 4.
The NBW was issued today following the dismissal of his bail plea, senior superintendent of police (SSP)
Patiala A Rai said.
Earlier, on October 15, NBW had been issued against Daler Mehndi and five others, including his wife
Daljit Kaur and Balwinder Kaur, wife of Daler's brother Shamsher Singh who is presently in judicial
custody till November 12.
The police had secured fresh NBWs against five persons after excluding Daler Mehndi's name as he
appeared before the police for questioning on October 27 and October 28. Today's fresh non-bailable
warrants have been issued against the singer as he has been evading the police since last week.
The court had also issued NBW against four alleged associates of Daler Mehndi on November 3.
