Mumbai: At least seven bogies and the engine of the Ernakulam-bound Jaipur-Ernakulam Express derailed this morning (November 8) about 111 kms from Mumbai, between Kasu and Pen, Railway sources said.

The derailment occurred at 06.28 AM (IST). There were no casualties, Central railway Chief PRO Sunil Jain told reporters.

The train left Jaipur on November 7. It goes via Panvel and Roha without touching Mumbai in the Konkan route, he added.

The Central Railway has made adequate arrangement for bringing passengers to Panvel station. A number of buses have been pressed into service to transport the passengers.

Alternate arrangements are being made to send the passengers to Ernakulam, Jain added.
