Seven devotees killed as jeep hits truck in Orissa

Keonjhar (Orissa): Seven devotees were killed on the spot and 11 others injured, three of them critically when the jeep in which they were travelling collided head-on against a loaded truck at Dangapani village on NH 6, about 8 Kms from here today (Nov 7), police said.

However, a five-year-old girl survived the mishap with minor bruises.

The accident occurred on a turning where one of the drivers appeared to have lost control. While the jeep driver died on the spot, the man behind the wheel in the truck was absconding.

All the passengers of the jeep were from Bhulda village under Patna block of Keonjhar district who were on their way to a Shiva temple at Gonasika on the occasion of Kartika Purnima.
