Srinagar: One boy was killed on-the-spot and four others, including a woman, were injured today (November 9) when Pakistani troops shelled civilian areas in Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sixteen year-old Ghulam Mohammad was killed and Mohammad Tufail, Mohammad Saleem, Shujat Ahmad and a woman were injured when shells from across the border hit Udalgund in Kargil, official sources said.

The condition of Mohammad Saleem was serious, the sources said, adding that the shelling began around 15:00 hours (IST).
