Vaiko observes fast protesting TN Assembly decision

Vellore (Tamil Nadu): Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) General Secretary and Member of Parliament Vaiko and eight members of his party, who were jailed under Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) in the central prison here, began a hunger strike this morning.

The ten hour fast in the jail, to condemn the Tamil Nadu Assembly's decision ordering the arrest of editors and senior journalists of 'The Hindu' and 'Murosoli' for 'breach of privilege of the House', began at 8 AM (IST), jail sources said.
