New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today (Nov 10) arrested the killer of poetess Madhumita Shukla from Lucknow.

CBI sources said that Prakash Chander Pandey was arrested this morning and would be produced before a court.

The sources said Pandey was arrested after a sustained interrogation of his accomplice Santosh Kumar Rai alias Satya Prakash. The duo had visited the Paper Mill colony residence of the 24-year-old poetess and allegedly shot her dead, they said.

Former Uttar Pradesh minister Amarmani Tripathi has already been arrested by the CBI in connection with the murder.
