New Delhi: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Nov 10) said the Centre will seek a report from the Governor of Tamil Nadu on the issue of arrest warrants by the State Assembly against six senior journalists of 'The Hindu' and 'Murasoli' dailies.

This assurance was given to a delegation of Opposition leaders from the State, who called on the Prime Minister in New Delhi this evening, according to a PMO spokesman.

The delegation of Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Pattali Makkal Katchhi (PMK) and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), which presented a memorandum to the Prime Minister, had earlier called on Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, who described the Supreme Court order staying the execution of the arrest warrants against the journalists as "good for democracy".
