Tuesday, November 11 2003 11:43 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (November 11) upheld the validity of controversial Government pension scheme by which a certain percentage of an employer's contribution to the provident fund is diverted for pension purposes.

A Bench comprising Justice S Rajendra Babu and Justice K G Balakrishnan, however, said the matter pertaining to those organisations, which have better pension schemes, as compared to the Government scheme, would be examined separately.
