Tuesday, November 11 2003 14:24 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: India's bowling spearhead Javagal Srinath today (November 11) announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing to an end an illustrious career that spanned 12 years.

The 34-year-old right-arm fast bowler, plagued by injuries since the last couple of seasons, had been contemplating hanging his boots for quite some time now.

"I have decided to retire. I will make a formal announcement later in the day," Srinath said.
