Thursday, November 13 2003 18:58 Hrs (IST)
Bangalore: Karnataka Government would soon establish a special court for trial of multi-crore fake
stamp paper scam related cases, State Law Minister D B Chandregowda said today (Nov 13).
Speaking to reporters in Bangalore, he said the State High Court had agreed for the special court and
Government was considering whether a retired high court judge or a serving district judge should be
appointed.
He said the process for setting up the court would begin next week.
Chandregowda said appointment of a retired high court judge would require the Cabinet approval and
therefore the issue would be brought before the next Cabinet meeting, so that there was no delay in
setting up of the court.
When pointed out that a lot of developments were happening in Maharashtra in relation to the scam, he
said, "A lot of things will be happening in Karnataka also once the court is set up."
