Lucknow: Barely two months after formation of the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led Government in Uttar
Pradesh, cracks began to surface in the coalition with Congress - which is extending outside support -
today (November 13) criticising the Chief Minister for not forming the co-ordination committee to ensure
harmonious relations among alliance partners.
"Even after two-and-a half months of formation of the Government, neither the co-ordination committee
has been formed nor has the common minimum programme been agreed upon," State Congress
Committee chief Jagadambika Pal told reporters.
It appears that the Chief Minister is not serious on these two important issues, he said.
Pal said it was decided to formulate a common minimum programme and form a co-ordination committee
when Mulayam Singh Yadav-led Government was formed.
He said Yadav had also not made clear his position on the question of Assembly Speaker. As per
established traditions, the Speaker also changes along with the change of guard in the State, Pal said,
adding that though the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Government was no longer in office, its
Speaker continued to hold his post.
Pal released a list of Congress candidates for 26 local body seats of the Legislative Council.
