Randhir Singh re-elected CGF Vice President

Montego Bay (Jamaica): Secretary General of the Indian Olympic Association, Randhir Singh, was
unanimously re-elected Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF)
Vice President from the Asian region for another term of four years.
After his re-election at a meeting of the CGF, an elated Singh said "the Games Federation always
recognises and appreciative of good work being done. India is respected by the members of the
Federation and its economic growth has been the key to such recognitions."
On India's successful bid to host the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, he said "the total
solidarity exhibited by the regional delegates from Asia and Africa motivated the members of other
regions like the Caribbeans, Oceania and America, besides England, in our bid."
Singh, who is also Secretary General of the Olympic Council of Asia and is popularly known as 'Raja' by
sports administrators worldwide, said the successful hosting of the
Afro-Asian Games in Hyderabad was the key to India winning the right to host the Commonwealth
Games.
Thanking the members of the CGF for supporting India's bid, Singh said the New Delhi Games would
be "a massive success since we have the total support of the Government of India and also have
enough time to create a benchmark in hosting the Games successfully."
